Festival Day
Come to a full day of camper performances, open shops and art displays, a showcase of an entire summer’s work.

Festival Day schedule:

11:00am to 5:00pm

Ongoing exhibitions throughout camp. There will be displays of camper art projects from a variety of disciplines at the Actors Studio, Wood Shop and Publications. There will be glassblowing demonstrations at the Glass Studio. There will be an exhibit of staff work at the Painting Studio.

11:00am to 3:00pm

Our Radio Station, WBBC 87.9 FM, will broadcast live. Selections will include camper recordings produced at Buck’s Rock’s very own digital recording studio, Studio 59.

11:00am

Story Readings (Sewing Shop Porch)
Pub Shop campers will read highlights of this summer’s writings.

11:30am

Fashion Show (Sewing Shop Porch)
There will be a camper fashion show, highlighting projects designed and sewn in our Sewing Shop.

12:00pm until 1:00pm

A picnic lunch will be served to all our guests.

12:30pm

Marching Band and Guitar Snack (Pavilion)

Lunch will feature a “greatest hits” concert from the MuShed’s Marching Band, which has marched and tooted around camp during Saturday picnic lunches this summer, and a program by Buck’s Rock’s sweetest strummers and pluckers, who have jammed with the MuShed nearly every afternoon.

1:00pm

Commedia Dell’arte (Outside Clown Shop)
Commedia Dell’arte is a classic form of Italian comedic performance featuring over-the-top characters, masks, improvisation, and crazy situations. Commedia is the grandfather of improv, SNL, sitcoms, and more.

2:00pm

Dance Show (Dance Studio)
Buck’s Rock Dancers will perform highlights from the summer’s dance shows, Seven and Karma

3:00pm

Clown Show (Pavilion)
The Clown/Improv Shop will perform improv and the best of our 2017 sketch comedy shows.

4:00pm

Junior Camper Play, The Phantom Tooth (Dance Studio)
“For Milo, who has too much time.” Based on the beloved book, The Phantom Tollbooth follows Milo, Tock, and other friends to a land full of wordplay, where only the princesses Rhyme and Reason can unite two feuding kingdoms.

4:30pm

Puppet Show (Pavilion)
Come and check out the final Puppetry Performance, featuring skits and puppets made by campers!

5:00pm to 6:30pm

Music Shed Performance (Pavilion)
The Music Shed’s grand finale concert, featuring highlights from the summer and new performances from our Jazz Band, Orchestra, Pit Band, Chorus, BRAC (Buck’s Rock A Capella), Rock Café bands, and Tribute Show Bands.

6:00pm until 7:00pm

A picnic dinner will be served to all our guests.

8:15pm

The Wizard of Oz by L. Frank Baum and Glen MacDonough (Summer Theatre)
This show will utilize the songs and script from the 1939 film version, but of course, there will be plenty of surprises.

Checking Out Your Child

Thank you for following the below procedures, which will ensure the safe and smooth operation of Festival and the departure of our campers and CITs.

Trunk & Traffic will help you with your child’s luggage as you arrive. Please verify that it is your child’s luggage before loading. Parking is at Visitor Parking. Please do not park or drive anywhere else on campus.

All parents must check out their children at the office before 4:00pm. All medications and supplements will be at the office for pick up. Some personal belongings will still be in your child’s bunk. Please bring these items to your vehicle as soon as possible. Bunks close at 4:00pm. All artwork exhibited at the Actors Studio or in the shop areas should not be collected until after 3:00pm (if possible), but before 5:00pm. We ask that all campers and CITs depart immediately after the musical.

We are currently accepting enrollments for the 2018 season, including the Junior Camper program for younger campers. Please visit our website to enroll online at www.bucksrockcamp.com. Enjoy our Festival celebrations!
